Go where they are...
Recruiting young people to the programme, is by far, the most important step. We have learnt that the best way is to be where the young people are - face to face recruitment and gaining word-of-mouth recommendations from previous participants.
Over a 2 week recruitment drive that precedes course delivery, all staff go out to meet young people at the Job Centre, Job Shop, youth projects and centres, and activities that are currently engaging young people.
Over a period of time, we have established a presence and connected with parallel programmes as referral pathways through partnership agencies such as, The Princes Trust, Valley House, Positive Youth Foundation, Talent Match, Grapevine, CAMHS, Media Mania and the Coventry Youth Partnership.
